Options – Did you know our popular Wall Panel 067 is available in 26 shades of Spring? We love this rich, red-orange piece completed for a recent Los Angeles residential project. You can also choose from bright greens, yellows and blues to add punch to interior walls while softening harsh acoustics. Like all our designs, Wall Panel 067 is easy to customize. Mix colors, color-block or create embedded patterns, or select our Wall Panel 068 for a refined laminated color edge.

Commercial Project – For the Pearl District Marriott Residence Inn project Becca Dobosh of SERA Architects in Portland, Oregon contacted us to create a custom variation of our Index wallcoverings. Borrowing the height variations from Index Dimensional and the width and linearity of Index WIDE, these sleek wool felt and cork tiles averaged 18” H x 40” W and were installed using a clay-based heavy duty wallcovering adhesive.

Arranged in vertical courses like our Index WIDE, and using only a single color, the effect is serene and adds acoustic softening to this dining area. The accent strips which stand higher than the rest of the wool felt tile face are dramatically highlighted by the placement of the lighting. All our wallcovering products come pre-trimmed and ready to install with complete and detailed instructions. We can even offer custom edge-trims and solutions for wrapping crisply around corners.

Donations – Although we are always working to create more efficient and waste-free processes in creating our products, it is inevitable that over the course of the year we accumulate a significant volume of post-manufacturing scraps of wool felt, leather and cork. Every year Submaterial donates a great deal of this scrap material to schools and programs for children. Are you aware of a school or program that could benefit from this material? Please let us know so we can share with your community too!
