Women in Design is a volunteer-driven organization dedicated to supporting women in the design industry. Established in 2012, the group immediately drew-in over 75 women from various design backgrounds. WiD hosts regular events to encourage networking, mentorship, and continued education.
The NM chapter of WiD hosts an event almost every month, from self defense classes, to mixers and career fairs. Although many events are exclusive to members, some are open to the community, like their Annual Holiday Auction (pictured above).

Holiday Auction
We had the privilege of attending the 4th Annual Holiday Auction this month, where many items were being raffled during the evening, and others were part of a silent auction. The items in the auction included designer ornaments and wreaths, all with unique materiality and concepts. Proceeds from the event benefit the NM Kids Matter program.
In addition to attending, we were happy to donate two of our wool felt panels to the event and meet the winners of each piece. It is an honor to be able to participate in such a great event in our city. Below is an image of some women in our staff who attended the Holiday Auction (more photos here).

NM Kids Matter
The Holiday Auction benefited New Mexico Kids Matter, a group of volunteers who advocate for the well-being of neglected kids across the state.
“New Mexico Kids Matter is the only volunteer advocacy group working in the court system that provides a caring, consistent adult focused on the well-being of a single child in foster care.”
