Submaterial is thrilled about our collaboration with FilzFelt and Daniel Moyer Design on a donation piece for the Reclaim x2 event put together by Reclaim NYC. FilzFelt is one of our very favorite resources, providing gorgeous dense wool felt in an amazing array of colors. Daniel Moyer creates stunning furniture and longboards out of his Brooklyn shop. Using three donated colors of FilzFelt’s gorgeous thick felt, Submaterial has created a custom seat and back cushion for an exquisite chair designed and fabricated by Daniel. The Reclaim x2 event challenges designers to use debris and refuse materials from the storm to create pieces of furniture and art that will be sold to help those who suffered most from the destruction of Hurricane Sandy. Choose from 36 felt colors and some new metal finishes like the hand-buffed edge in this image or solid color powder coat finishes. This wool felt panel is a full 0.25 inches thicker than our wall panel 071 and the deep ridges offer even more sound-softening texture.
