Winter Newsletter 2015

10 February 2015 |

On December 4, 2014 over 950 people from the design community (designers and manufacturers) gathered at the state-of-the-art Frank Gehry designed IAC Building at 555 West 18th Street in NYC. The auditorium was standing room only, as the winners of Interior Design Magazine’s Best of the Year awards were announced.

Figure No 2: Best of the Year 2014

Submaterial had entered our new Figure no. 2 wall covering for consideration and we were thrilled to be recognized and awarded Best of the Year 2014 for fabric wallcovering. A second Material Connexion award for Innovative New Wall Covering Material was presented to Submaterial at this prestigious 9th annual event. We are grateful for all the voting support of our clients and collaborators. It was a great finish to a great year!

Commercial Projects

Recently, our Index Solid wool felt and cork wall covering was selected by designer April Schneider of Dallas-based interior design firm F + P Studio for the Escalante Golf office expansion project. The addition of a larger conference room for the client required a warm and inviting wall surface that also provided acoustic enhancement for the multi-purpose space.

Commercial Projects

Index Solid combines thick wool felt and natural cork composite to create an easy-to-apply system for interior walls. Choose from more than 60 colors to create bold or subtle compositions using the standard 6 x 24 tile or work with us to create the perfect size for your project.

We are always adding new pieces to the Submaterial Ready-to-Ship online store. While we love working with you to create custom and made-to-order pieces, we understand that not every customer or project has the 6-8 weeks lead-time to wait. For those need-it-now situations, the online store is a great resource for our most popular panels and wall hangings.

Index WIDE

At the Submaterial Ready-to-Ship online store you’ll find this handsome Index WIDE panel and many other new pieces that are crated and ready-to-ship without the wait!
