What is your return policy?
Most of our products are made to order, therefore we offer returns or exchanges due to manufacturer’s defect only. Items must be returned in the original packaging and have no visible signs of wear or use. If you have a concern, please contact us within 3 business days of receipt of your product. Please retain the original packaging and wait for instructions from our sales team.
Should a replacement product be required, an appropriate lead time will be quoted.
In the event we issue a refund, funds will go to the original payment method.
Sale items and custom products are final sale and cannot be returned or exchanged.

When will my item ship?
Ready-to-ship products will ship within 1-2 days of purchase. At this time, you will receive a shipping confirmation email with tracking information.
Lead times for custom products are usually 6-10 weeks from the time a deposit is made, depending on material availability and the scope of the project. We do our best to accommodate shorter or longer timelines. Please contact sales@submaterial to discuss project scheduling.
Do you ship internationally?
At the moment, we ship to the US and Canada. If you are elsewhere in the world and looking to purchase a product, please reach out to sales@submaterial.com.
Where are your products made?
Our products are made by real humans in the USA. Submaterial products are handcrafted in our Albuquerque, NM design studio and manufacturing facility.
Will my product look exactly like the one I saw online?
Because of the use of natural materials and very hands-on processes, each piece has a unique character. Color variations from what you see on your screen are to be expected. We celebrate the evidence of the human hand and the variation of natural materials in our work.
