2018 Design Trends

Each January we are intrigued to see trends in product orders from the previous year. While the 2018 trends are similar to those of 2017, we did notice a few products jump in popularity and color preferences shifted from cooler to warmer tones.

Top Designs

Although Index Dimensional has been our most popular wallcovering since its debut in 2012 (selling over 60,000 square feet in 2018), our floor-to-ceiling Index Linear Wallcovering increased in popularity dramatically from previous years. Following these two from the Index Collection, our newest wallcovering design took hold in the market quickly! Ribsy Wallcovering (pictured below) came in only about 1000 square feet behind Index Linear at approximately 12,000 square feet.

Ribsy was also recognized at NeoCon in Chicago with a MetropolisLikes Award.

Wall Panel 067 was turned out to be our most popular  panel design, in colors orange and rost (which is a heathered orange-red color). The design features 2″ felt tabs creating a grid-like pattern with an emphasis on depth and shadow. Top Color Selections

It is no competition which wool felt color is the most popular; a light, heathered gray called weib. While 2017 was a cool year with blues and grays, 2018 warmed up a bit. We had more orders utilize oranges and reds than previous years, which was also reflected in our top-liked photos of 2018 on our Instagram page.

We’re excited to see which products pick up in popularity in 2019, and anticipate the warmer palette to continue throughout the year with Living Coral named the Pantone for 2019.
