5 Things with Brigid Harmon

Hello! I am Brigid Harmon the marketing specialist at Submaterial. I joined the team in January of this year. I am a New Yorker who has lived in Albuquerque twice before now and made the move to the Land of Enchantment from Los Angeles in March 2021.

1. I am really looking forward to exploring more of New Mexico's beautiful landscape. In a couple of weeks, some friends are visiting, and we are going to stay the night at Lightning Field. It is not necessarily the best time of year for lightning, but I am still excited to explore the field.

2. I am generally a tea drinker who will drink coffee in a pinch. Recently, I have become OBSESSED with Guayaki Yerba Mate (in the can only)! Mint and lemon are my favorite flavors. It is also the afternoon drink of choice among many other Submaterial folks.

3. For the last 6 years, I have been involved with a history-based app project in NYC called Urban Archive. More than 200K historical photographs are pinned to the digital map so that you see what the city looked like over time while walking around. My favorite part is the recreation feature which lets you take then and now photo comparisons.

4. One of my favorite writers at the moment is Anne Helen Petersen. I first got to know her when she wrote long-form articles for Buzzfeed, but over the last year, she has been publishing a Substack called Culture Study that is a super engaging mix of culture, celebrity, feminism, consumerism, and work practices.

5. My favorite Submaterial product at the moment is this Wander Mirror. I love how the clean lines and rich colors (Aubergine is one of my favorite FlizFelt colors) create a subtle but impactful (and functional) wall piece!
