Create & Curate by Knoll

Create & Curate by Knoll

Studio Transformation

Earlier this month, our studio transformed from an active production studio to a neatly arranged venue space for Create & Curate, a Knoll design event. Hosted at Submaterial, Create & Curate attracted local designers and architects and allowed them to interact with fabrics, leathers, and vignettes of Knoll furniture pieces. With FilzFelt specializing in German-milled wool felt, Spinneybeck specializing in leather, and KnollTextiles bringing in exquisite fabrics, designers were given a lot of textural options to choose from. Furniture vignettes included pieces from Rockwell Unscripted and Knoll’s new Muuto line (a Scandinavian design collection).

Event Program

Re-purposing our felt inspection table, the Knoll team set up 14 work-stations. The program of the event was for design professionals in the area to create one-of-a-kind jewelry art while networking. Each attendee hand-selected their materials and jumped into the design and assembly process.

About Knoll

“Knoll uses modern design to connect people to their work, their lives, their world. Since 1938, Knoll has been recognized internationally for creating workplace and residential furnishings that inspire, evolve, and endure.”

Over the past 80 years, Knoll has become a staple brand for modern interiors. They have acquired a handful of other like-minded design brands, and continue to push the boundaries of design through these partnerships.  The Knoll team planning the event refers to themselves as “The Constellation of Brands,” which includes Knoll OfficeKnollStudio, MuutoKnollTextiles, and Spinneybeck l Filzfelt.
