While January felt like a whole year on its own, we are now somehow at the end of April?! Submaterial has been moving, shaking, and planning for a lot of excitement in 2026!
Let's dive into some staff updates, new partnerships, and a sneak peek at what is to come in the next few months.
A New Voice for Submaterial Social Media
At the end of October 2025, our wonderful social media specialist and in-house photographer, Jennica, moved away from Albuquerque. We were lucky enough to continue to work with her remotely until the start of February. During her time here, Jennica truly expanded and elevated the scope of our photography, both product images and behind-the-scenes documentation.
Here are some of our favorite photos that Jennica captured.
In February, we were thrilled to welcome Ash, our new social media and marketing specialist. Ash joins us from UNM. She is also a writer, potter, and photographer! This is one of her recent photos for Submaterial.
Have you seen Submaterial in more magazines?
2026 began with a new working relationship with the design-minded communications agency, A Design Partnership. The team at ADP, spread across the globe, is experts in their field and the perfect match for our design- and craft-focused studio. They are exploring not only media mentions but also opportunities for recognition and new collaborative relationships. We are thrilled to be working with them!
We are Award Winning!
The first quarter of 2026 closed with Submaterial being honored with awards presented by two long-standing and well-respected publications.

Submaterial is headed back to NYC for ICFF in May
For the third year in a row, Submaterial will be exhibiting at the International Contemporary Furniture Fair at the Javits Center. This year, our booth is near the main walkway into Wanted Design, the area for emerging global design, so we are thrilled to be in a high-traffic area. The booth design for this year is currently a secret, but we can tell you it will feature new wall-covering designs, some next-level sustainable materials, and a strong dash of color drenching. Don't be blue 😉 (come see us at ICFF)!
